About Eat2WinRaleigh’s Restaurant Review & Deals — eat2winraleigh

About

dan and jess website 239x300 AboutHi,  We are Jessica and Dan and we work as stock traders in Raleigh and live in Cary, NC. Dan, the NYer,  recently moved to Raleigh from NY for Jessica; Jessica has always called Raleigh home.

In May of 2009, as we were searching online for a great Chinese restaurant in Raleigh to order takeout from, we realized that there was no consistent review website to rely on as a local restaurant guide. We started this blog because of our mission to find the best restaurants in Raleigh –why not review where we go to help others that have moved here, or simply want to branch out and try new restaurants. Our goal is to objectively evaluate Raleigh restaurants based on service, atmosphere, the food and the risk/reward for your money.  We also try to let you know about great Raleigh Restaurant deals! If you want to know about Raleigh Restaurant deals as soon as we post them, like Eat2WinRaleigh on facebook, Subscribe to Eat2winraleigh by email, or subscribe via RSS.

Why the name eat2winraleigh? As traders, we trade to win. So when we go out to eat, we eat to win. Meaning, we want to find the best restaurant with the best food for the amount of money we are spending, with good service and the right atmosphere. We are looking for good risk/reward situations. We don’t mind paying more for excellent food and service, but if the restaurant is not excellent we want to make sure we don’t over pay. We also don’t want to waste money, so we are willing to use a coupon, or another deal to get the best price. We are trying to find the best places to eat in Raleigh, and the best deals.

In addition to trying to find the best restaurants in Raleigh, we are also trying to find restaurants that have the same type  of food that Dan is used to from NY.  The following is a list of his “needs”

  • great, hearty breakfast
  • sushi with spicy mayo like they have in NY
  • Deli sandwich with Boars Head meat
  • authentic Italian with a great red sauce
  • NY style pizza
  • NY bagels
  • a great Steak at a classy Steakhouse

So, if you recently moved here or are trying to find the same things we are, let us do the legwork for you! Hope you enjoy! We can be contacted at eat2winraleigh @ gmail dot com.

Thank you for helping me find the good spots! I’ve wasted many evenings and countless money on mediocre restaurants. I’ve tried a few of your picks and have agreed 100% Keep up the good work!

Hey Jessica,
You were such a great supporter of the Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week last year and hope you can help us promote this year’s event scheduled for Monday, August 20 through Sunday, August 26. I have an idea I would like to run by you. Could you contact me via e-mail?

Hey Jessica,
I wanted to see if you would have any interest in running a Restaurant Week gift certificate (provided by me) giveaway on your blog? Your readers would just need to comment on their favorite participating restaurant and you could select one winner to receive a $30 gift certificate to the participating venue of their choice. Let me know if your interested.
