42nd St. Oyster Bar is one of the classic seafood restaurants in Raleigh. It’s located in a freestanding building in downtown Raleigh on the corner of Jones and West.
The New Yorker – If you are just going to 42nd Street for oysters–this place is a winning trade. Cool atmosphere. A lot of Raleigh history. Great place for someone not from around here.
The Raleigh-ite – Sometimes, at night, I crave the baked oyster sampler. So, I love 42nd Street Oyster Bar for that reason, but the fried seafood is just mediocre. Fun place at night. On Saturdays/Sundays they have live music.
Do over? We will definitely be back to 42nd street for oysters and the baked oyster sampler.
